Jesse's story

Meet Jesse – A recent Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music graduate who was inspired to come to ANU due to his mother’s experience at ANU as a student.

What have you been doing since graduation?
Since graduating I have been teaching myself to play the guitar. I am enjoying life post-graduation while I save for a trip to America. In the future though I would like to go back to university and do postgraduate study. My parting advice would be ‘carpe diem’. Give yourself to the world and let the world give itself to you.

What were some of the most interesting things you did at ANU?
In the first half of my final year, I was lucky enough to go on exchange to the University of Washington in Seattle – the experience was incredible! I also had the opportunity to play the trombone in the 2011 inter-hall musical. The highlight though was probably all the amazing people I have met at ANU. Everyday I was having fun and learning more about the world.

What would you tell a student considering attending ANU?

Do it. The constant buzz of university life is pretty amazing. I have a lot of good memories at ANU – it was both challenging and exciting. Coming to ANU will change your life. It changed mine and I believe that most of my friends would say the same.
